Post Nine, Still Longing For My Dream Camera..

As you may Recall from Post Six, Camera Please.. http://shncc.blogspot.com/2011/07/post-4-camera-please.
Well i Was (Am!) Sitting Waiting, Wishing (For This Camera To Fall into My Life!) Jack Johnson, in Between Dreams, Feb, 2005.
(Apologies for my First Class Referencing here, Uni is going to My Head! =o)
Well while i was Sitting Waiting, Wishing, i Decided to look for Accessories for This Particular Purple Pentax Optio RZ10. i Came across an Amazing Hand Crafted Camera Camera Case!

Twas Gorgeous!
...Which just Happened to be SOLD OUT! =/
Soo i thought to myself, Wait a Sec, Could i Make this myself!??
i Went to a Crafts shop and purchases some Coloured Felt, Needles and Thread and set myself the Challenge of Creating My Own

Here's a Quick Story Board of my 'Totally Made-Up from Looking at Photos of these Camera Cases' Process...

(i Apologise in Advance for My Lack of Nail Polish, But i'll Make up for that in my Next Post, Promise!)

1. As you can see, i Used the Measurement Perfect for One Particular Camera and Explored my Design Options

2. i Purchased My Materials:

3. i Measured and Cut out the Felt Pieces

Heres All except the Outside Pieces, as i Purely Forgot to take the pic of them =P

4. i Began to Cut out and sew together Small pieces for Detailing on the Front

i Glued on The Yellow piece of Felt with PVA Glue rather than Sewing it

6.  i Searched High and Low for a Coloured Button and had No Luck, So i just Painted a White one with Nail Polish, Let it Dry then Sewed it on to make the Top Button Details

7. i Realised that the case needed to be Tough, Sturdy and Preferably as Waterproof as Possible, So i Found some Hard Clear Plastic Packaging (That once Held a PhotoFrame) and cut Out the Perfect size to line my Camera Case, give it That Protective Strength and Make it Pretty Waterproof =D

8. i Used Sticky back Tape to Stick the Green lining to the Clear Plastic, Then Again to stick the Outer Layer to the Plastic to Make a Sort of Sandwich to hold it in Place for Overlocking

9:  To Make The Fastening Loop, i Plaited some Thread, Looped it and Super Glued it to the Plastic underneath the Green Lining

10: Unfortunately and Undoubtedly, the Super Glue went Crazy! as it Always does =P So Clumsy Me Stuck it to the my Hand and the Desk! =/

11: i Had to use the Blade of my Scissors to Slice it Off my Desk =/ But No Fear! Cover up your Mistake With a Pretty Button! xD

12: i Used a Blanket Stitch to Over Lock the edges with Yellow Thread

13: Then i Continued the Blanket Stitch around the Edge, Joining the Two pieces together, Following it Round the Felt Pattern

14: Continue Sewing Round... As you can see, i Accidentally Ended up with an Extended part to the Right of the Red Button, But it was okay, i Made it work out in The end and it also acts as an Extra Guard Just incase it is Open...

15: Completed!? =D

Finishing touches Purely include Folding the 2 Sealing Flaps as Desired

And Finito! =D

So it Was! Possible Afterall =]

This has Given me the idea of Creating Tons of Hand Crafted items and Selling them at an Art Fair Somewhere...

But what's the Point of a Beautiful Case with Nothing to Protect..?

it's Just an Early Present for my Camera to Be...

With Love ,
